Job Summary

Currently, ADRA Malawi is implementing a Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Project in Rumphi, Ntchisi, and Mangochi districts. The project aims to reduce NCD-related morbidity and mortality by increasing awareness, strengthening community support systems, and improving access to care and support for people living with NCDs.

ADRA Malawi seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced NCD Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of this project in the three districts. The coordinator will oversee project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring that project objectives are achieved within the agreed timeframe.

Specific Duties

  • Coordinate and implement activities related to the prevention, care, and management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
  • Support health facilities and community programs in early detection, treatment adherence, and case management.
  • Conduct outreach and monitoring visits in the three districts.
  • Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and community leaders to raise awareness and strengthen NCD response.

Responsible For
  • Provide overall leadership, management, and coordination of the NCD project.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor project activities in Rumphi, Ntchisi, and Mangochi districts.
  • Work closely with District Health Offices, community structures, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and project delivery.
  • Facilitate the establishment and strengthening of NCD support groups in target districts.
  • Ensure timely and quality reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual) to the Programs Manager.
  • Represent ADRA Malawi in relevant district and national NCD forums.

Educational Requirements
  • Community Health Nurse: Clinical Technician/Officer, with mental health and knowledge of NCDs will be highly considered.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience coordinating health-related projects, with proven experience in NCD management.
  • Strong understanding of Malawi’s health system and NCD-related policies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in community mobilization, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including to hard-to-reach areas.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English and Chichewa; knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage.
